Gave this place 2 tries, but just not very impressed.I will say the Egg Drop soup and Chees Rangoon's are very delicious, but everything else is rather mediocre.I've ordered the Kung Pao chicken both times i've ordered from here, and like others have mentioned, it's bland. Not too much seasoning, the chicken (or lack there of) is a little chewy, and the sauce's consistancy is just too runny.Fried rice is okay, but it's rice, how special can it really be?I think the best part of the meal, other than the Egg Drop and Rangoons, was the little fortune cookie for dessert, and even that is a little bland. My girlfriend stated that the Wonton Soup was good as well.Really wish this place was better given it's close proximety to me, but i'd rather order from somewhere else..Hot Wok is probably healthier than most other chinese food take-out joints, but when I am ordering chinese food take-out, healthy has already taken a backseat to my cravings..To sum it up, this place is good for soup, and not much else..

They used to be so good, but now they've gone downhill. Hot & soup is now bland and tasteless. Orange chicken and general tso chicken taste exactly the same.My kids have stopped asking for hot wok and now they ask me NOT to get hot wok. It's better to drive out to Asia Cafe.

No. Just, no.No flavor. No seasoning. Not good. The General Tso was soggy and bland. The egg roll was soggy as well. The duck sauce for the egg roll had zero flavor. The "fried rice" is essentially rice with really weak soy sauce mixed in. Egg Drop Soup tastes like canned cream of corn and has no corn in it. How does that even happen?Just go to Amy's China Cuisine instead. Same pricing, better food.

This is my favorite Chinese restuarant in the Austin area. Every time I order for delivery, its delivered way sooner than their estimated delivery time they give... I've had it delivered both to my home and to my job. Very quick and efficient service. Even when dining in. The food is delicious... I've had the orange chicken, sweet & sour chicken, lo mein, beef & brocolli and combination rice. Always tastes great and fresh, as well as hot. They make my fave crab rangoon's or cheese puffs, best in the Austin area. I'm usually not an egg roll fan but theirs is good... No real complaints, always the same each time and I've been ordering from them for almost 4 years now. As for price... can be a little high but thats to be expected.

The worst Americanized Chinese food I have ever had in a long time. Bland and lacks flavor.

Excellent food, my order was here in 10 minutes!! The only thing was I ordered one item and two small sides and spent $20 --yowsa! The online ordering system was quick and easy and they even called me to verify my address. I had the sesame chicken, egg rolls and cheese wontons. Yummy!

I used to really like this place, but lately, I feel like it has gone down a bit. I feel like the sauces are just bland. My biggest complaint has always been that they only give you soup if you eat in. I do like that they give you a crab puff with your lunch meal, but it's nothing to brag about. The soup is average and the egg roll is okay. My coworker didn't like the egg roll at all. The inside is a little mushy.

Hot Wok has been in this same location since we moved into the neighborhood about 10 years ago, and it's always been sort of hit and miss. Last night, though, was the worst takeout food I've ever had. When my husband went to pick up the food, he noticed there was nobody eating in the restaurant (a Saturday night), the cooks were in the back just standing there with their heads hung, and upon greeting the cashier started telling my husband about how his grandmother was dying. Although we can relate because my DH also has a dying grandparent, we didn't think it was an appropriate thing to share with customers. Now, on to the food. The egg rolls were hot and crispy on the outside, ice cold on the inside, which makes me think they're just deep frying frozen egg rolls. Scary, since there is meat in their egg rolls and it wasn't brought up to temp. The Kung Pao Chicken was lukewarm and bland. There was the requisite heat, but other than that there was no spice or flavor. The fried rice was NOT fried rice. It had the mushy texture of steamed rice with a few bits of egg thrown in, but it was the most palatable thing that came with our dinner. My husband ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with Shrimp, and there was literally one lonely shrimp sitting on top of the entree and nowhere else.Hot Wok had it easy for awhile, being the only Asian food place in the neighborhood. With all of the great restaurants popping up in this area, Hot Wok really needs to get on the stick in order to compete and stay in business.

They have honey chicken. Honey chicken seems to be an East Coast thing, because I can't seem to find it many places. This is not exactly like the East Coast version, but it is close enough to make me happy. I also like their pork fried rice because it has big, bold medallions of roast pork in it. The only item that I was not impressed with were the egg rolls. These have those very thin egg roll wrappers. I like my egg rolls in the thick wrappers. Also, they don't have fried wontons. Lastly, they are a little pricey, but the lunch specials are a good deal. Overall, I like the place and I will be back...often.

This is probably the worst Chinese food I've eaten. We were near by this evening and wanted take out. I ordered the egg drop soup and basil chicken with jalapeño. My SO ordered the fried dumplings and mongolian beef. I took one taste of the soup and it was flavorless. Threw it away. I was famished due to not eating all day so I did eat the chicken. However; it too was flavorless. My SO didn't even finish either of his dishes. He said it was awful. The service was definitely fast. I'll give them that. We spent a total of $25.00 and it was a huge waste. We will NOT return to this establishment.
